Besides anthologies, we are looking for books discussing important aspects of the Socratic spiritual tradition.

Here are the criteria for SSP to publish any book:

  1. The book has to be in line with the aims of the press to spread knowledge of the Socratic spiritual tradition.
  2. The author has to be able to organize their ideas and express them clearly.
  3. The author has to have high-quality scholarship and footnoting.
  4. The manuscript has to be delivered in a Word document or equivalent.
  5. The book has to be priced to make it accessible for general audiences.
  6. It takes a lot of time for the team at SSP to edit, proofread, typeset the book, and ensure high-quality images inside the book and on the cover so that the title of the book, the title of each chapter, and the cover image will be as appealing as possible to as many people as possible. This means every word in title has to be immediately clear to American audiences and pique their interest. Additionally, the cover image and inside images have to appeal to people.
  7. The book will have worldwide distribution through Amazon and other distributions. However, the largest audience is in the United States, so the author must be willing to take American tastes and understanding into account.
  8. The book must be in English.
